Itinerary for Day 4: Square of Miracles -Leaning Tower of Pisa
Day 4 is a pretty relaxing day because we only have one aim - to visit the Square of Miracles !
Our accommodation for the night is just a stone's throw away from the Pisa Centrale Station.
We dropped our luggage at our Bnb and headed straight to the Square of Miracles. The host , Johnny is really friendly and gave us really clear instructions.
Getting to the Leaning Tower of Pisa from the Centrale station is pretty easy ( about 30 mins walk ), you can also download the offline map and use it to guide the way.
It is really nice to walk on the streets of Pisa and you can grab a gelato ( A Must Try!! Gelato is really cheap in italy) while heading toward your location!
Walk on further and you will pass by this river and then continue walking on Via Santa Maria and you will reach the Square of Miracles.
Square of Miracles [ Piazza dei Miracoli ] is made up of the Duomo (Cathedral) , Battistero (Baptistery) ,Campanile (Leaning Tower) ,Camposanto Monumentale(Cemetery)
Opens from 8 a.m. - 7.30 p.m.
Entry is free
If you wish to visit only the Cathedral you can collect your coupon for a maximum of two people at the ticket office.
When you collect the ticket, there will be a pre arrange time slot for you, so you may want to visit the ticket office first first to maximise your time there.
Battistero (Baptistery) [ Red brick roof] -(€5 for 1 place)
Opens from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m
Lastly, the leaning tower of Pisa!
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is actually the bell tower or campanile.
Fun Fact : It was designed to be perfectly vertical, it started to lean during construction.
Opening Hours: Varies ( See Here )
It's really fun taking funny pictures with the tower. Let your creativity run wild!
Another Picture that i would like to share it the one below. Taken from another perceptive. It's pretty humorous to see so many people doing weird poses in front of the Leaning Tower.
PS : The grass patch is out of bounds and you are not supposed to walk on the grass but still alot of them sneaked in to take pictures
This wraps up my amazing experience at Pisa, it's a beautiful place and a Must go place to visit, not to mention that is is also a UNESCO World Heritage site :)
