How to Make a Crochet Slip Knot

A slip knot is the first step in crochet projects. It is also the starting to make a chain
To start making a slip knot
Leave about 15 cm of free end of the yarn.
Drape the working (ball) yarn over the top of it forming a loop in a circle, as shown above.
insert the crochet hook through the centre of the loop from front to back.
pull it back through the centre of the loop, bringing the yarn with it.
Pull free end of the yarn to tighten the loop
Next, adjust the loop by pulling the ball end . Do not pull too tight, it should be loose for the hook to slide back and forth
Note: Slip knot is not usually counted as a stitch.
