    Free Crochet Pattern: Baby Bib

    free bib crochet pattern

Recently i made a bib for baby Amelia and i'm going to share this crochet pattern with you.

Baby Bib is approximately 35 cm by 23cm and the strap is 25 cm

You may adjust the length according by adding or subtracting rows.

Please note that the type of yarn used and the tension may cause variation in

    size.

    Materials:

3.5mm crochet hook 8 Ply Yarn: White, pink

    Yarn needle

    Abbreviations (in U.S crochet terms)

Sc -Single crochet Dc -Double Crochet Ch -Chain St -Stitch Rep -Repeat Sl -Slipstitch Fdc -Foundation double crochet

    Row 1 : Fdc 50, Ch3 , Turn (50 Sts)

    Row 2 - 20 : Dc across ,Ch3, Turn ( 50 Sts)

    Left flap of bib:

    Row 21 : Dec twice , 16 Dc across, Dec twice , Ch3 , Turn (20 Sts)

Row 24 : Dec twice , Dc 4 across, Dec twice (8 Sts)

    Row 25 : Dec , Dc 4 , Dec (6 Sts)

    Row 26- 33 : Dc across ( 6 Sts)

Fasten off and Weave in ends

    Right Flap of Bib:

Attach white yarn on 26th St on Row 21:

    Row 21 : Dec twice , 16 Dc across, Dec twice , Ch3 , Turn (20 Sts)

    Row 22 : Dec twice , 2 Dc across , Dec twice (16Sts)

    Row 23 : Dec twice , Dc 8 across , Dec twice (12 Sts)

    Row 25 : Dec , Dc 4 , Dec (6 Sts)

    Row 26- 33 : Dc across ( 6 Sts)

Fasten off and Weave in ends

Now we are going to make a pink border around the bib

We start off from the Row 1 of the bib ( 1 Sc in each Sc St and 2 Sc in the gaps of Dc)

Sc around the bib ( 247 Sts)

Fasten off and Weave in ends

you can use the picture below as a guide

    free-bib-guide

    bib-crocet-pattern
    bib-pattern-free

Cut 6 strands of 1 m yarn to make the strap of the bib

    1) Fold a strip of yarn into half & Insert crochet hook into the st

    2) Pull the loop through the st and 3) Pull the 2 tails through the loop 4) Itʼs done!

Make 3 sets on each flap.

Braid the yarns together till a appropriate length(~25cm) and secure with a knot

That's it! your bib is done!

    Free-bib-crochet-pattern

You can make the bib more fanciful by sewing the name of the baby, add a cute Appliqué or both!

I added a Hello Kitty Appliqué ( Pattern by Make by K here) for baby Amelia and I'm loving it!

    Crochet Hello Kitty Bib

However if you are making one for a baby boy, You might want to consider other Appliqué.

I have a free car Appliqué pattern here that you can check it out

Hope you guys will like this project!

You may make and sell the bib made from this pattern but give us the credits by linking it back to us! ! Much Appreciated! You can share your completed project with us too by tagging us on Instagram or Facebook @yunieshandmade and we will be glad to feature it on our page!
